There is no business on a dead planet. Either you go green or you go bust. It is important to understand that threats to the environment are real and that 44% of all consumers say that concern for the environment is their top priority.
Over 80% of all environment impacts from the manufacturing process are determined during the design phase. So at Farrell we work with our designers to take carbon out of our products before we get to the factory floor.
Farrell understand that ethical consumerism is the consumption of goods produced without undue harm to humans, animals or the natural environment. As a result the company endeavours to use recyclable materials and constantly strives to reduce its emissions. In short the company’s business strategy is focused toward the creation of greener products.
CSR
At Farrell our commitment to society and the environment form a core part of who we are and what we do. They influence our behaviour, they shape our identity and they are deeply embedded across every aspect of our business operations.
For years now we have sought to minimise our impact on the environment, and to maximise opportunities to have a positive effect on society. We understand our responsibilities as a modern business and have distilled our beliefs and initiatives into our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Carbon
Carbon emmissions are the number one threat to our environment and there is carbon in just about all we consume. Neccessarily manufacturing is seeing an accelerated move toward low carbon output.
The consumption of energy generated by the burning of fossil fuels is causing the problem and so using energy as efficiently as possible is crucial to the future of our society. At Farrell energy saving is also a key driver in cutting costs and so management has ensured that it is embedded behaviour for all personnel of the company.
To us the simple equation is:
Reduce carbon consumption = Reduce global warming and reduce manufacturing costs.
There are four stages,
Farrell are working toward ISO 14001 which will,
Business needs to lead the way on environment issues. Business as usual is not an option.
