Strong growth forced the need for an increase in production capacity. As a result, 1998 Farrell's Deeside plant underwent further expansion. A new warehouse was built for the storage of raw materials. This allowed Farrell to greatly reduce lead times and offer a wider range of finishes.
The investment in Farrell's production process continued in 2001 with the purchase of a half-million pound, state of the art press line. The addition of this enabled veneer or laminate to be bonded to substrate board up to 3.0m x 2.5m in size.
By 2001 Farrell was employing 100 people.
